Through these experiences, Janay has gained a deep awareness of the scope of poverty and violence across the nation, and abroad. This made her ambitious about creating innovative approaches to service delivery. She founded Camp CHOICE, Inc., a private life enrichment company in 2006; serving youth ages 6-24.
Camp CHOICE’s signature service is “Game of Life” Weekend Adventures©, currently held at Three Trails Retreat Center in Kansas City. These camps serve youth ages 12-19 using a life simulation to teach them how to manage the difficulties of adult responsibilities, while utilizing their choices as tools for success. Youth learn to cook healthy meals, enjoy fun physical fitness, and explore topics on morals, family, education, finances, relationships, violence prevention, etc.!
Janay Reliford-Davis, MSW
" I created Camp CHOICE out of a passion to fulfill God's calling on my life by sharing with youth my experiences being a teenage mom living on welfare and public housing assistance. I learned a lot about the difficulties of life, who God is and how the choices people make impact our circumstances. Camp CHOICE will take a great amount of commitment and financial support to thrive and prosper, but that's okay because our youth are worth it." -Janay Reliford-Davis
We have been so blessed to have people who believe in our vision and want to help us succeed.
