KNOW YOUR RIGHTS

Stay Informed. Stay Safe. Stay Empowered.

As a young person, understanding your rights is key to protecting yourself and making informed decisions. Whether you're at school, on the streets, or interacting with law enforcement, knowledge is your strongest defense. Stay informed, stay safe, and stand strong in your rights! Here’s what you need to know:

YOUR RIGHTS WHEN STOPPED BY POLICE

🚨 You Have the Right to Remain Silent – You don’t have to answer questions beyond identifying yourself in some states.

🚨 You Have the Right to Refuse a Search – Unless officers have a warrant or probable cause, they can’t search you without consent.

🚨 You Have the Right to Legal Representation – If you’re arrested, ask for a lawyer immediately.

🚨 Stay Calm & Respectful – Even if you feel you’re being treated unfairly, avoid escalating the situation.
